Workplace automation is the process of instructing software, and sometimes hardware, with network connections to create automated workflows. This is often applied to make a repetitive tasks happen without needing a human to do, or even trigger it. An example of automation in the workplace might be creating an onboarding flow for someone new joining the company, so the HR personnel only has to enter their name into a system, and all of the correct documents are sent to them, and the correct people notified.

What is HR Automation?

HR automation is the process of enhancing the efficiency of the HR department by freeing employees from tedious manual tasks, and allowing them to focus on complex tasks like decision making and strategizing. By automating standard and repetitive HR activities, organizations can reduce the cost and time they spend on manual HR planning and processing.

Strategic human resource management identifies the long-term best uses of human talent as revealed by HR data. Traditional HR management mostly implemented directives from the top-tier. Irrespective of the many benefits that have been identified with increased automation, fear has also increased among a section of sectors especially labor, as workers perceive the risk of job loss and unemployment.

  1. HR Automation is a real time benefit to both employee and employer in the organization. Profitability is the main target of each & every organization .HR automation is allowed to reduce the paperwork & allow HR personnel to involve with the strategic decision-making process.

    I will explain it by using the Textile apparel industry and it is a real benefit to this industry since the workforce is high when compared with other industries. Human resources are the best resource for any organization and always every organization needs to treat them in a good manner to take more productivity from them.

    01.Employee on board

    Employee on boarding is regular basis thing within this industry since workforce is really high for this industry and always most of the employees are having same qualifications.so job postings to hiring, interviewing, selection process, monitoring the records, analyzing data and measuring performance can be used with automation process while reducing the cost compared to manual method.

    02.off board

    This is really hard thing as well as common thing in the apparel industry since jobs are similar with the basic work force and some employees are with the contract basis too.so termination files need to collect and need to process with the correct manner & company equipment need to take return and audited as well as employees too need to remove from the payroll and benefits too. Automation processes lead to maintain this document in order and prevent legal actions.

    03.Leave request

    Leave requests can be used with the automation process and it leads to processing them with the system to avoid from the time consuming. Employees can update the records on the system and supervisors can view them with the automation process and can handle their job on time and all the records are near to their hand for decision making PA’s and system profiles also can be maintained with each & every employee.

    04.payroll

    When taking in to the apparel Industry, normally garment factories are having at least 1500 employees in each factory and it is so hard thing to make their salaries using manual method as well as by using the excel spread sheets.so most of the companies are using automation process to calculate gross salary, EPF, ETF calculations as well as basic reduction from employees.
